How it all started...
Our story began a long time ago, and not so long ago. Around 2,000 years ago the resurrected Jesus sent his disciples into the world instructing them “to make disciples of all nations”. And the world has never been the same. Our church exists because the news of the person and work of Jesus has been handed down from one generation to the next and has spread from one nation to another over the centuries. We belong to the one global church throughout history.
Closer to today, about fifty adults who live in the Jax Beaches and are members of the Christ Church family of churches began to meet and pray together about starting a new church in Jacksonville Beach. For years these families have been meeting in community groups scattered throughout the Beaches and this community has been growing. In 2016, Christ Church East called Kevin and Jenn Bigelow to lead the new congregation. In the fall of 2018, we began our fourth community group in the Beaches community and in the Spring of 2019 we began gathering together as one larger community on Sunday evenings. This Summer we are preparing to begin Sunday morning worship services at the Beaches Historic Chapel in the Fall, beginning September 08, 2019.

But Christ Church Beaches didn’t begin with just these fifty adults. In 1984, a group of families began Christ Church Presbyterian in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville with a heart to reach the city of Jacksonville with the news of the person and work of Jesus.
Over the years, as men and women and families were drawn to Jesus and Christ Church began to grow, they prepared to once again start new churches, this time scattered throughout the city of Jacksonville. In 2010, led by Keith and Kim Dickerson, Christ Church began Christ Church East in the Town Center area of Jacksonville. Then in 2014, Christ Church East and Christ Church Presbyterian together began Christ Church InTown, led by Dave and Hailey Abney in the downtown corridor of Jacksonville. These three churches, Christ Church Presbyterian, Christ Church East, and Christ Church InTown are working together to begin Christ Church Beaches in Jacksonville Beach.

Jacksonville is the largest landmass city in the United States. And bringing the news of the person and work of Jesus into every neighborhood and community takes partnership. Together with the rest of the Christ Church Family of Churches, the Vision and Mission of Christ Church Beaches is
